Encore Capital Group Earns the President’s Volunteer Service Award

Company receives gold medal for group service and honors 34 employees for volunteerism

SAN DIEGO, March 25, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Encore Capital Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECPG), an international specialty finance company, has received The President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national honor that recognizes companies and individuals for their community service.

Encore’s individual award recipients, 34 in total, helped the company achieve gold level status by providing over 2,750 hours of service during 2015. Volunteerism is core to Encore’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program, which encourages community service. Since the program’s launch in 2013, Encore has donated more than $800,000 and Encore people have volunteered more than 9,000 hours globally to nonprofits that offer a path to dignity and financial self-sufficiency through education, job training and basic support services. Based on the Independent Sector’s estimated value of a volunteer hour1, more than $200,000 in additional support has been provided to Encore communities by committed Encore volunteers.
